About Us

The Line Dancers Club of SCW offers a variety of classes to choose from to meet your dance level and interest.  Classes are taught by Kort Kurdi, who has more than 15 years of experience working in adult communities. The choreographed routines incorporate many dance styles, such as the waltz, rumba, cha cha, tango, mambo and many others. Popular line dance routines are performed to a variety of music from Latin to disco to oldies.

If you’re new to line dancing, consider taking our Beginners Workshop where you will receive more instruction in the basic steps and perform dances that will give you practice transitioning from one step to another. Many of our new members describe themselves as having “two left feet,” and are surprised when they are line dancing after taking the Beginners Workshop. Kort makes the learning process easy and fun and you will relate to the every day experiences he uses to explain the dance steps. We have four-or five-week  (depending on the month) Beginners Workshops starting every month.

We offer a variety of other levels from Upper Beginners through Intermediate Plus as well as specialized classes, including our Show & Go and Footloose classes.  If you are not sure which class is for you, you are welcome to come watch a class free of charge or you can participate as a guest up to three times in a calendar year for an additional $1 dance fee over what club members pay.
Membership in the Line Dance Club is open to Sun City West residents with valid recreation cards. Membership is $5 per calendar year, which provides you access to all of the club’s line dance classes, workshops and monthly line dance events. Guests who live outside SCW may attend as a guest of a member up to three times in a calendar year for $1 additional over the fee charged to members for classes and workshops, and $2 over the fee charged to members for the evening line dance.
